On Monday we had the day off from performing at the It Is Written meetings. As a bit of a treat the whole school went to the Hoover Dam. We all had a tour of the inside of the dam and then we walked around outside. It Was Amazing. The dam is an incredible structure, it is an amazing feat of engineering. At the base it is 660 ft thick! It has enough concrete in it to form a 4 ft wide footpath all the way around the equator! The power plant has 17 huge generators which weigh 560 tons each. We walked across the top of the dam to the other side, and we were in arizona. We could just step between the two states, which was kind of cool. It really is an incredible structure and is worth a look it you get the chance.
